Difference between Asin & Katrina?

About Asin:
This is the reality,  give "1 crore rupees" to Asin for a movie & she will act for "6 crore rupees" worth. If you do not believe this, please do watch the bollywood movie "Ready"!
If you think Bollywood is where she over acts or reacts, then my friends, you are wrong - You should see some of her South Indian movies(Kollywood(tamil) & Tollywood(telugu)) because you are really missing out on some of the over the top acting skills that she employs to woo the audience. The other day, I was discussing this with a Tamil friend of mine. He just shut me down saying "she is so beautiful & when she over reacts you have to see her eyes rolling like a naughty kid's reaction & as long as she is pretty and chirpy I will watch her movies". I thought, oh boy! No point in talking to this maverick.

I get eye sore watching her on TV & always wonder 'when will she stop reacting unnecessarily?'
Also please watch this 9 seconds clip to get a gist of what i'm talking about, I really want to bang my head on to something.

About Katrina:
Give her "6 crore rupees" & she acts only for "60 rupees" worth! & walks away with maximum accolades for not acting at all and if you observe, most of the movie critics love her & give the readers an instant shock by saying Katrina Kaif has acted well in the movie and somehow you believe that & buy a 500 bucks worth ticket & wait until the movie ends to see if she ever tries to act, to our dismay she never does. And here again, I was discussing with a North Indian friend on this & all he said was, "Man, she is damn hot. By the by, why the hell do you expect her to act? As long as she is in every frame of the movie looking pretty we guys are fine".  What to do with this maverick now!!
It is like saying, I'm a surgeon but I don't know how to operate. Holy Cow!

Conclusion(rather, My conclusion):
Here is my personal choice, instead of scouting for the two extremes portrayed above, I would vouch for 'Anushka Sharma', a balanced actress who can act well, dance well, look super hot, pretty & confident. Besides, she chooses her role with care where there is scope to act. I like her! By the by, the only saving grace to me in the movie "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" was Anushka Sharma, otherwise the movie was BS.

Also, out of the established actresses, I would vouch for the following two:
1)Vidya Balan - I don't think anybody else can do justice to her role in "Paa", marvelous! This is called as acting to the T. A big bow to Vidya!!

2)Konkana Sen Sharma - Try to squeeze in any other actress in "Wake up Sid", probably not! - Konkana nailed the role. Poor female, never got her dues in Bollywood. A quick suggestion, do watch "Mr & Mrs Iyer" & see for yourself as to how she pulled off a Tamil girl character with panache. Now that is class act!!

Oh, I like Deepika Padukone too!!
As a movie buff, this is my personal view, not meant to hurt anybody. Leave a comment if you agree or even if you disagree!! I would love to read your views!

  4. Very true... I hate both those ladies' acting skills.. Esp Asin.. Very very melodramatic acting.. Me & my sis will feel like hitting her.. But try arguing that to guys... They will brand u as 'Typical female type.. U ppl are so jealous of them'..
And with Kat.. No emotions at all.. But I love her 'Chikni Chameli' dance.. Feel like no one else can shake the hips like her !!

    1. True Chitz, every time the argument is with a girl, we are always right but when it is with a guy my god, they brand us "J" :-)
About hip shake, you should see the dance moves of Koena Mitra(yes long back! She did some alteration to her nose that now she looks pathetic, but she had very good dance moves back then & she used to be fit as a fiddle)

I know everybody loves to argue on this!! And I'm not a fan of both these actresses, I think that is pretty evident from my post.
Yeah, when I was penning down this post, I myself could not stop laughing on how much I criticize ;-)
Priyanka is actually good choice too!!!

  7. I think Bollywood now became an industry where the leading ladies crown for who exposed better.... Kat Anushka, Kareena, Kangana, deepika are rated because they expose more... But see Aish, Priyanka, Vidya and Asin trying to act rather expose.... They should see the films of Sridevi, Kajol & Madhuri to learn what is acting...

  8. I'm from Tamil Nadu and Asin really never impressed me. She acted so over the top and got on my nerves.

And Katrina... sigh... She can stay for Advertisements like the Mango juice. I want to see actresses in movies not just pretty faces, though I like Madhubala or Kajol in terms of appearances and acting. :P

Onion and Tomato Chutney

If you are one of those, who is bored of the regular coconut chutney day-in-day-out, then this chutney will be a life saver. It is a good mix of onion, tomato and coconut sauteed with spices and ground to perfection. This goes very well with Idli, Dosa and also as a side to Curd Rice. I have seen people mix this chutney directly with plain rice and have them(something like a pachadi), so it kinda works that way too!! Ingredients : 1)Onion - 1(chopped) 2)Tomato - 2(chopped) 3)Green Chillies - 3(slit) 4)Grated Coconut - 4 tsp 5)Garlic - 3 pods(crushed) 6)Oil - 1 tsp 7)Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp 8)Whole Red Chilli - 1 9)Urad Dal - 1 tsp 10)Asafetida - a pinch 11)Turmeric Powder - a pinch 12)Salt - to taste 13)Coriander leaves - 5 sprigs Preparation : 1)Heat oil in a pan and add asafetida, cumin seeds, whole red chilli and urad dal. Let it splutter. 2)Add garlic and slit green chilli, saute for couple of seconds. 3)Add onion and salt, saute until they turn translucent. 4)Add chopped tomatoes, tur...
